Edna Biscocho Murray

Edna Biscocho Murray, a retired health care claims examiner and certified massage therapist, is a dedicated advocate and state-certified domestic violence counselor. She transformed her life from a biology teacher in the Philippines to an overseas worker. Murray recently retired after over 31 years in the Behavioral Healthcare Department of Alameda County.

Edna Biscocho Murray is a mother, wife and retired Alameda County health care claims examiner. She graduated at the National Holistic Institute as a professional massage therapist and health educator in 2002. She has been a member of ALLICE since 2005.

A biology teacher in the Philippines, she became a domestic worker in Singapore to help support her large family in Batangas. As an overseas worker she learned to fight for her rights. She is social action officer of Faith Community Church in Oakland.

A member of FWN, she starred in its presentations of The Vagina Monologues. She is a state certified domestic violence counselor. Her testimony on her experience as an abused child has enlightened many.  Edna recently retired after working more 31 years in the Behavioral Healthcare Department for the County of Alameda.
