Mariel Jacinto-Valdes (she/her) was born in Manila, Philippines, and moved to the United States at age 8 through her mother’s work with the Foreign Service. She has made San Francisco her home ever since.
Mariel brings many years of administrative and organizational experience to her role, currently serving as an executive assistant with Shorenstein. Over the course of her career, she has supported leadership and teams by helping to organize Investor Conferences, Senior Management Seminars, team-building activities, and volunteer initiatives. She values opportunities to bring people together and is proud to contribute these skills to ALLICE’s mission of promoting healthy relationships and safe communities.
Outside of work and service, Mariel enjoys traveling and discovering new places. Most of all, she cherishes her role as “Mita” to her seven grandchildren, with whom she shares love, joy, and family traditions.
